Okay, here’s how you buy real estate: Come to town for 2 weeks, look at as many properties as you can, and then buy one. Congrats to P. who did just that. He flew in from Toronto 10 days ago and just closed on his first apartment, a 16’ ceiling loft in the heart of Gastown. We looked at 10 or so places, and this was the one. He flew out yesterday, and will be back to move in at the end of April.
It’s really that simple people. This doesn’t have to be complicated or painful. In fact, when you were renting, did you spend this much time looking at properties? Was it really that big a deal? Here’s a fun fact for you: You’ll spend an average of 4-6 years in your next home. Whether you rent or not. Don’t get analysis paralysis!

Okay, remember how last week I spoke about a client of mine who bought (and made money on) a property that was rejected by everyone else? This week I have one just like that. It’s BIG. It needs a lot of work, but is seriously undervalued. You’ll need a large down payment for financing, but only for a limited time. Potential to make upwards of 50k with limited risk.
