So Woodward’s finally hit the market, to much fanfare. In order to avoid people camping our in the streets in front of the building Mr.Rennie instituted a new system of armbands and colour coordination. It seems to have worked, as I spent hours on the phone instead of hours in the rain and ended up with an appointment at 3 pm on day 1. Better than camping in the street, especially in that neighbourhood! The armbands were quickly on the market for up to $2,000 as people clamour for a spot. (Don’t buy one though, it won’t work!) All of which points to a sell out on the first day.
I believe in the development and the future potential of the area. Whether politically one ‘believes’ in gentrification or not, the ball is rolling for that area, and as the momentum gathers steam, it could be a huge opportunity for you.

35-Year Mortgages: Reed Harris, Canada’s Best Mortgage Corp.

The main reasons to choose a 35 yr amortization are:

To extend your buying power:
This is good for younger buyers who can expect an increase in their income later on, at which time they can start repaying the mortgage faster. It allows you to avoid having to trade up for a while!

To have the option of a very low monthly payment:
Because lets face it, borrowing rates on mortgages are among the lowest available. Instead of putting $150 per month into your mortgage, put it into your investment account. Some investments earned 10, 20, 30% or more in the last 12 months - and paying down your mortgage earned under 5%... Most people are focused on paying down their mortgage. But focusing on paying down your mortgage keeps you from other, more lucrative opportunities.

I've had lots of different objections to the new 35-year amortization option. Here's what I tell them: Nobody has the same mortgage for 35 years, and most people upgrade their house every 5 years. So don't worry about it, since the first 5 years are mostly interest anyways!

Find an investment advisor, and tell him you've just reduced your mortgage payment by $150 per month and want to invest it... That’s how you can benefit from a 35-year amortization. Call me to discuss your options!
